ALERT !!
Watch out for “Imitation” Wheel !!

Why it's so risky to buy cheap "Imitation" wheel?

weds only sell wheels which are designed and manufactured by conducting continual strength analyses and tests.
We commercialize high quality wheel adding value as lightness and attractive design.
Our wheel design might be copied, but "Imitation" wheel can't even equal the quality and performance that weds offer.
You will see "Imitation" wheels at a low price, please keep mind they pose you a risk by their low-quality.
Due to the lack of strength analysis or test, and using low-quality material, "Imitation" wheels are far inferior to our original wheel especially in strength.
Imagine! What happens if your wheels cracks while driving…

Quality Standard and Certificate of Wheel

Developing wheels, strength quality is one of the major factor. In Japan, MLIT (Government) obligate all manufactured wheels to meet severe technical standard "JWL /JWL-T." Our wheels are made as well as to meet above standard, we conduct tests under additional 20% stricter standard.
You will find JAWA quality certificate sticker on the product.

Rotary Bending Fatigue Test

Checking durability of the wheel disk.

Place a wheel on testing rotary equipment same style as we place wheel on the vehicle, and by adding bending stress to center of disc –
Test run 100,000 cycles (JWL pass criteria) and 250,000 cycles (JWL-T pass criteria.)
After testing cycles, inspect for cracks, deformation and any nut loosening.

13°Degree Impact Test

Checking air-hold of tire and strength between rim and disc cross section.

Place wheel disk with tire on the assembly board, fix and tilt 13 degrees (JWL pass criteria), and 30 degrees (JWL-T criteria) from horizontal plane.
Some weight is free-fall dropped on the edge of rim flange. Then inspect for cracks, deformation, separation and air leak.

Cornering Fatigue Test

Checking rim durability.

Place wheel disk with tire on test equipment same style as we place wheel on the vehicle. Run 500,000 cycles (JWL pass criteria) and 1,000,000 cycles test adding radial stress.
After testing, inspect for cracks, deformation and any nut loosening.

MLIT (Japanese Government) sets technical standard for all light alloy wheel in Japan. There is JWL which must be met for all passenger cars in Japan, and JWL-T must be met for truck and bus wheels.
These marks on the wheel indicates that the wheel has been self-certified by its manufacturer to meet the standard.
“JWL” mark was made based on “Japan Light Alloy Wheel.”

The JAWA (Japan Light Alloy Wheel Association) has been promoting safety and liability of wheels since established in 1972. JAWA has introduced the “JAWA Quality Certificate” system to protect and develop consumer confidence in wheel safety and quality. The certificate guarantees that all products qualify to the JWL and JWL-T light alloy disc wheel standards approved by MLIT and the products are registered under VIA regulations after strict quality testing by three types of testing methods.

How to identify?

Wheels are not small price to spend. Moreover wheels are fatal parts, to ensure the safety of vehicle, we would be better off to select “Genuine” wheels.
We therefore like to introduce simple but fairly accurate aspects to identify weds “Genuine” wheels.

Check for standard marks!!

Standard Marks
"JWL / JWL-T" and "VIA"

Are standard marks “JWL / JWL-T” and “VIA”casted or forged into the wheels?

"JAWA Quality Certificate" Sticker

Old JAWA sticker(~2014)
Now JAWA sticker(2014~)

Does wheel have “JAWA Quality Certificate” sticker?

Check for "Forgery Preventive Hologram Sticker"!!

Wheel manufactured between April 2012 and May 2013
Note: Wheels manufactured before March 2012 do not have sticker.
Wheel manufactured since June 2013

Wheel manufactured since June 2013

*Checking above three aspects may help you to identify which wheel to select. No need for technical knowledge!
Enjoy safe and confortable driving with “Genuine” wheels!

Rapid increase of troubles in wheel personal trading.

It has been many troubles caused in personal trading including auctions. You will never know how damage selling wheel has. Some people sell cracked wheels “No Claim, No Return” policy. Some people sell “Immitation” as “Genuine.” Even price is attractive, it carries high-risk. We suggest you to be very cureful of personal trading.
